I just uploaded my October chart. I apologize for the lateness but I've decided to release my chart more towards the middle of the month rather than right at the beginning to give me a bit more time to compile it.
I've also uploaded and linked my live set from Thanksgiving weekend celebrating Underdog's 8th Anniversary. I uploaded this a couple of weeks ago on my soundcloud account but neglected to put it up on the website. Was a great night with Sultan & Ned Shepard here in Halifax at a wonderfully appointed club Pacifico. Some thumpy deep house and tech-house on this short 1 hour mix. The tracklisting is below. Today I have uploaded September's edition of my Chilling Moments series. This mix is a 2 hour journey that started out as a recreation of a live set I played back in July at Halifax's "Classics Reunion". Initially it was only a little over an hour in length but I chose to turn it into a full 2 hour mix and it took on a life of its own. From groovy tech-house to blissed out deep prog this set is a true journey so turn it up and get lost for a couple of hours!

Now that John Digweed's Transitions has aired on Proton Radio for the week I've uploaded and added my two guest mixes to my media page. These two mixes are the clean copies I sent in to John before they trimmed and added his narration to it. I'll be putting up the actual guest mix as aired on my soundcloud account but wanted to offer people the clean copies as well.

Very special news this month. As some of you read below, I entered a mix into John Digweed's "Structures Two" DJ mix contest organized by Bedrock and Beatport. Not only was I lucky enough to make it into the top 20% of votes to reach the judging round but also won the entire contest after having my mix judged by an amazing panel that included King Unique, Robert Babicz, Oliver Lieb, Nick Muir and John Digweed himself! As a result my contest winning mix will be played on John's highly acclaimed radio show "Transitions" along with a second 30 minute mini mix I was asked to submit. You can catch that this coming Friday, August 26th, 2011 on Proton Radio and it will be available for download all over the internet shortly after.
John Digweed's "Transitions" radio show reaches millions of listeners every week and as a result I expect some higher than usual traffic through this website for a little while after the broadcast. For that reason I've chosen to remove a large number of links to my mixes on the media page so as not to spike my bandwidth too badly. I haven't as yet decided how many mixes I'll leave up to download but for the most part I think I'll leave up just a few current ones. Don't worry though, these mixes will be available through my media page again in the near future.

After much anticipation (admittedly all on my part .. hehe) I bring you the first instalment of what I hope will be a fairly long running series of mixes. This series, aptly titled the "Classic Mix Series", will feature some of my favourite tracks over the 15 or so years I have been djing. Right now I'm starting with tracks that I have either repurchased in digital format or found on some old hard drive of mine. Later, as I exhaust material, I'm sure I'll get into ripping old vinyl to use tracks that you just can't find digitally. This of course will take time as I have to go through the thousands of records I've collected through the years to find all my old gems.

I obviously haven't been paying much attention to my website over the past year or more. I don't actively dj anymore but still play a lot at home and still do the odd mix for download. I'm going to try and pick up on doing mixes more frequently again so check back here for news on new mixes in the future. Have a few new mix projects planned including the return of Chilling Moments as well as a classic mix series that will feature some of my favourite classic bombs over the years.

After a year of very little djing here in Halifax it seems as though things are starting to look up again. A new Friday night showcase has started at The Palace and from the looks of things it is fairly promising. If nothing else it will be nice to have a "big room" to play in again. I'll be performing there Friday February 26th, 2010 as well as opening for Calvin Harris on April 2nd, 2010.
I finally had the time and initiative to go through my media page and update it so that all the links work. Everything on the media page should work fine now as I am now hosting all the mixes myself. If for some reason you find that doesn't work please email me at "sean@seankeating.ca" and I'll make sure to take a look at it.
I will also be uploading some of my older mixes seeing as how my media page doesn't include much from before 2003. These mixes were designed for the CD medium so the tracks are all broken apart so I have to spend some time splicing the mixes back together before I can upload them to the server. Hopefully I'll accomplish that in the next week or so.

I'm uploading some of the old mixes that used to appear on www.djbolivia.ca to my own server and changing all the addresses to reflect their new home. Will also be posting a few select mixes from 2003 and earlier that I haven't made available for download previously. Will post again when it is complete.

I've just added a live set I played at Reflections back in April. Now that all the tracks that will be released have been I'm finally sharing this mix with everyone. It's a peaktime mix that is fairly agressive throughout as I made a somewhat rare headlining appearance @ Reflections. This was one of my favorite live sets of all time so I hope you all get a chance to enjoy it!
I recently added a new 3 hour studio mix I completed that is currently doing the rounds on www.vinylslut.ca. This mix is titled "Prerogatives Vol. 1" and is the first in a new series which will replace my old "SYSS" series of mixes. The mix starts off deep and gradually builds throughout with my usual eb and flow. Hope you enjoy.
I can't believe it has been 6 months since I've added any news to this site but I guess it's because I've been taking things slowly this year and have taken some time off from music and djing in general. I had a great New Years with close friend and amazing dj, Sultan as well as a chance to play with legend John "Quivver" Graham recently.
I'm still rolling out the mixes for vinylslut.ca and getting great response from their listeners. You can find a number of mixes from 2008 for download from my media section. I've moved away from the Electro sound a bit and followed the trend towards tech-house/techno these days but you'll still find that my love for melodies remains a constant!

Two new mixes updated this week since I finally remembered this website existed .. haha. Added my Tribalmixes.com Radio exclusive mix from August to accompany my first Proton Radio Mix from July. I've also added my latest Chilling Moments Radio mix from last month as a new one gets ready to be added to www.vinylslut.ca.
Be sure to join Underdog Productions @ Reflections for an early christmas present with "Christmas w Brad Copeland December 14, 2007". Brad and I always have a blast djing together and I expect this event to be no different. One of Canada's finest djs with one of your local Halifax favorites at arguably the citie's best places to dance. Don't miss it!
I've also been lucky enough to have some very memorable gigs recently having played alongside Steve Porter (US) as well as my good friend Sultan (Yoshitoshi, MTL). It's a real treat to get the chance to play with two of your favorite djs/producers of all time!

I really must apologize for not having updated this news section since late in 2006. Seeing as how we are launching a new version of the website it was as good an excuse as any to update this section of my website. Here is a quick run down of some noteworthy events in the past months.
Had a great show planned with Danny Howells @ Reflections (HFX) but unfortunately Danny missed his connecting flight into Halifax so he couldn’t make it. The crew at Underdog Productions scrambled last minute to fly in a replacement on extremely short notice. Brad Copeland (TO) flew into town in time to make this one of my favourite nights this year. Definitely means I’ll be looking forward to Brad’s next visit in July.
I’ve had a ton of really great gigs over the past 6 months or so. Most noteworthy being a show with Luke Fair this past November, my birthday bash @ Reflections (HFX) with good friend and always fabulous DJ Sultan, a warm-up spot alongside Jay Hamilton w Tiga in February and another opening slot for Junior Sanchez at a very rare all night event @ Diamonds in late March.
My radio show “Chilling Moments” on www.vinylslut.ca is still going very strong with tons of listeners from all over the globe. I’ve been getting some rather nice comments from listeners all over the place about the mixes I’ve been contributing so you can definitely expect that to continue well into the future. We had a slight scare with the new law in the US requiring royalties to be paid on streaming mixes hosted on US servers. We’ve since planned to move the site to a server in Canada to alleviate this problem.
I’ve recently been trying to get in the studio to start producing some tracks with good friend Jay Hamilton. While we are both fairly busy with our day jobs we hope to have some solid material put together soon.

I've recently teamed up with one of Halifax's rising production companies, Underdog Productions, as their first full time resident. I've really enjoyed working with these guys so we felt it was a natural thing to do. I'm definitely looking forward to the future as they'll be bringing Halifax some kick ass shows in the next little while!

Well, here it is now officially the summer of 2006 and I haven't updated this news section in a little while.
I'll be performing once again at this years Evolve Festival in Antigonish, NS. The festival has moved up a few weeks on the calendar this year and it'll be taking place August 4-6, 2006. Tentatively, I believe I'm performing Friday night on the main stage.

I'll be opening for Brad Copeland (Toronto) @ Reflections Cabaret on Friday July 7th, 2006. A welcome opportunity to play the venue where it all started for me back in 98-99.
My radio broadcast Chilling Moments is now back running through www.vinylslut.ca (Calgary). You can catch weekly mixes from myself and guests mostly from the Atlantic Region.
I'll be in St. John, NB for Canada Day this year. I really enjoyed my last show there @ Nitro so I'm sure this one will be a blast as well.
